Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026. Zero personal tracking by design.
We Do Not Store Personal Information & Require No Logins
At getal.ink, we believe privacy is a fundamental standard. We do not collect, request, or store your name, email, phone number, or personal identity. All users can freely shorten links without signing in.
1. What Information We Collect (and What We Don't)
We do NOT collect:
- Names, email addresses, physical addresses, or phone numbers.
- Credit card numbers, financial accounts, or payment profiles.
- User passwords, social media identities, or personal profiles.
- Cross-site browser history or advertising profiling records.
What we process for routing & security:
- Destination URLs submitted when generating shortlinks.
- Aggregate routing events (e.g. gateway view count, button clicks, sponsor page views).
- Non-personally identifiable technical telemetry (coarse device category, browser family, country code, bot/crawler flags) to prevent automated abuse.
2. Cookies & Ephemeral Session Tokens
We do NOT use persistent cross-site tracking cookies. We only utilize an ephemeral session identifier cookie strictly required for functional routing:
- Session Continuity: Ensures that when a link has a sponsor step set to "first visit only", visitors are not shown duplicate sponsor screens during the same browsing session.
- Admin Security: An encrypted HttpOnly cookie is used exclusively for verified administrators managing link infrastructure.
3. Pre-Navigation Verification & Destination Transparency
Every visitor to a getal.ink shortlink is shown the destination domain before navigation occurs. We ensure transparency so users always know where a shortlink leads before clicking through.
4. Abuse Reports & Trust & Safety
When a user submits an abuse report via our Report Portal, the submitted slug and reason are reviewed solely for the purpose of identifying and dismantling malware, scams, or malicious URLs.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy. Any updates will remain committed to our founding principle: zero personal data collection, zero registration hurdles, and honest link forwarding.
